Shillong (Meghalaya), April 25: A shocking incident of violence rocked the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) campus on Thursday, April 24, when a group of miscreants, claiming to be student union office bearers, forcefully entered the office chamber of Professor Dr. Alok Singh and brutally assaulted him.
The incident occurred around 5:00 pm, with eyewitnesses describing the attack as unprovoked and cowardly. Dr. Singh is currently receiving treatment at a hospital and is reportedly out of danger.
The faculty members of NEHU have strongly condemned the incident, expressing solidarity with Dr. Singh and denouncing the act of violence.
