Shillong (Meghalaya), June 13 : A high-level review meeting was convened by Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker Thomas A. Sangma to assess the progress of the new Assembly building construction at Mawdiangdiang.
The meeting, attended by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, Deputy Chief Ministers Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar, and senior officials, aimed to review the current status and strategize efforts for timely completion.
The meeting emphasized maintaining quality and standards in the construction process while adhering to the scheduled timeframe. With a previous deadline set for July or August 2024, a 100-day extension was granted in December 2024 to facilitate completion, with plans to hold the next Autumn Session at the new Assembly building.
