Imphal(Manipur), June 14 : Manipur Police and security forces have recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition in the valley districts of Manipur. Based on specific intelligence, joint teams of Manipur Police, CAPFs, Army, and Assam Rifles launched simultaneous search operations in the outskirts of five valley districts on the night of June 13-14.
The recovered arms and ammunition include 328 guns/rifles, 591 assorted magazines, and over 11,000 rounds of ammunition, including SLR, INSAS, AK, and other types. The haul also includes explosives and warlike stores such as 10 grenades, 3 lathode, 7 detonators, and a mortar.
The operation highlights the continued efforts of Manipur Police and security forces to maintain law and order in the state and curb militant activities. The Manipur Police has reiterated its commitment to a peaceful and secure Manipur and urged the public to cooperate with police and security forces, reporting any suspicious activities or information related to illegal weapons.
