Shillong, July 1: Meghalaya has simplified its Special Intensive Revision drive, telling electors that no supporting documents are required during the enumeration phase except a recent passport-size photograph.
Booth Level Officers will distribute Enumeration Forms in duplicate and collect one filled copy while giving an acknowledgement on the second. If a house is locked, the BLO will slip the form inside and revisit up to three times to collect it. The door-to-door exercise continues till July 29.
Voters also have the option to complete the process online through the ECINET app on Google Play and Apple App Store, or on https://ecinet.eci.gov.in/homepage and the Voter Services Portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in.
To help electors fill forms accurately, the legacy Electoral Roll of 2005 from the last SIR has been made available on the Chief Electoral Officer’s website https://ceomeghalaya.nic.in, district websites, the ECINET app, the Voter Services Portal, and with BLOs. Those listed in the 2005 roll should note details like name, relative’s name, state, district, AC number, part number, and serial number before filling the form.
Electors who migrated to Meghalaya after 2005 can look up their previous SIR details from 2002 to 2005 for their earlier state on the same portals and apps. If an elector’s name is missing from the 2005 roll but a parent’s or grandparent’s name appears, those details can be provided in the form
.
Officials said having these particulars ready will make the process faster and hassle-free. The only requirement with the Enumeration Form is a passport-size photo, pasted on the physical copy or uploaded for online submissions.
