Shillong (Meghalaya), June 9: NPP’s James P.K. Sangma sailed through nomination scrutiny for Meghalaya’s lone Rajya Sabha seat on Tuesday, leaving him poised for an uncontested win.
Assembly Secretary Malthus S. Sangma, acting as Returning Officer, found Sangma’s papers in order. The MDA candidate filed on June 8.

With no rival in the race, the June 11 withdrawal deadline will seal the election process.
