Shillong(Meghalaya),Oct 13 : The Indian Institute of Management Shillong is geared up to organise the mega symposia Series on “Improving Mobility in Shillong” from Oct 14 th to 26 .
The intent of the symposia series is to come up with feasible and positive long-term solutions for traffic management in Meghalaya’s capital city Shillong.
During the 13-day long brainstorming symposia series, detailed discussions will be held on traffic management and along with eminent keynote speakers and intellectuals from different sectors, various govt departments of the state will also be participating to bring out the solution to the long pending ordeal of traffic congestion in the city .
Sanjib Banerjee, Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, and DP Wahlang, Chief Secretarys presence is likely to make the series more significant and interesting .
Prof. DP Goyal, Director of IIM Shillong says “IIM Shillong is geared up for the 13 day Symposia series and is determined to come up with a blueprint to improve mobility in congested Shillong. It is certainly the need of the hour that a constructive solution is needed and not only the administration but the citizens also have to participate to improve mobility in Shillong.”
IIM , Shillong, was set up by the Government of India in Shillong in 2007. Located amongst the hills, the campus has a serene ambiance and complements its theme of Sustainability.
The meticulously framed curriculum and case-based pedagogy are aimed at preparing the participants in all aspects of management before they enter the corporate arena.
