Shillong(Meghalaya), May 14 : In a significant boost to the state’s healthcare sector, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma released development funds of ₹2 crore to Dr. H. Gordon Roberts Hospital, here under the Meghalaya Healthcare Advancement Policy (MHAP) 2024.
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery across Meghalaya, particularly in supporting mission-run hospitals that have long served the community.
The Chief Minister highlighted Meghalaya’s remarkable investment in healthcare, allocating over 8.5% of its total budget – the highest among all Indian states. This investment has yielded notable results, including a 45% reduction in maternal mortality rates.
The MHAP 2024 aims to further enhance healthcare infrastructure and services, with this funding expected to improve facilities and care at Dr. H. Gordon Roberts Hospital, benefiting the local population.
