Shillong, Aug 24: One more arrest in the KSU bike rally violence case.
Police have picked up a masked man seen assaulting bystanders during the August 19 rally. The arrested has been identified as the Assistant Organising Secretary of the KSU central body and president of its Nongmensong Unit.
Police said he was among the masked assailants who attacked vehicles and bystanders after the rally in Shillong, which left 31 vehicles damaged and 18 injured.
He was tracked through video footage where he was seen with face covered, attacking passersby.
With this, the number of arrests in the case has gone up to 4. A Special Investigation Team is probing the case and 15 FIRs have been registered.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma had earlier told the Assembly that those involved will not be spared.
