Shillong (Meghalaya), Feb 27: In a thrilling match at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, Nangkiew Irat SC secured a resounding 4-0 victory over Nongrim Hills SC in the OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024, thanks to a stellar performance by Gobindash Singh.
After a cautious first half, Gobindash (46′, 72′) broke the deadlock within the first minute of the second half and added another goal later on. Jefferson Pakyntein (79′) and Wallamsuk Nongkhlaw (90’+3) sealed the win with their respective goals.
Gobindash, who had not scored before today, was instrumental throughout the match. He sprinted up the left flank, crossed the ball into the box, and caught Nongrim Hills goalkeeper Kitboklang Marbaniang off guard, resulting in the opener.
The win lifts Nangkiew Irat to a point behind fifth-placed Laitkor SC, while Nongrim Hills remain in eighth place.
