Shillong (Meghalaya) , Feb 28 : In a stunning display of dominance, Shillong Lajong FC crushed Langsning FC 6-0 in their OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024 match at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, today.
The rout began as early as the 9th minute, with Deibormame Tongper finding the back of the net. Samchaphrang Lato (26′) and Yohaan Benjamin (30′) added to the tally, leaving Langsning FC reeling.
The second half saw no respite for Langsning FC, as Remark Kharmalki (76′), Babysunday Marngar (80′), and Mebannangkiew Thabah (90’+2) sealed the victory for Shillong Lajong FC.
This convincing win keeps the pressure on leaders Mawlai SC, who are just two points ahead. Shillong Lajong FC now has 39 points, with Mawlai SC holding 41 points and a game in hand.
Langsning FC’s season has come to a close, and they remain in fourth place with 24 points. However, their hold on that position is precarious, as Laitkor SC and Rangdajied United FC are closing in with 23 points each.
