Shillong, July 5: The Special Intensive Revision in East Khasi Hills is now in full motion, with Booth Level Officers fanning out across all 898 parts of the district’s 15 assembly constituencies since June 30 to deliver enumeration forms door to door.
As of July 5, the District Election Office reported that 1,67,253 enumeration forms have been distributed, and 6,707 of them have already been digitized. The exercise spans from Mawryngkneng to Mawkynrew, with South Shillong leading at 22,004 forms distributed, followed by Pynthorumkhrah with 13,533 and Nongthymmai with 12,521.
Officials said the entire process of distribution and collection of filled forms is slated to be completed by July 29. BLOs have been instructed to cover every household and ensure forms are collected and entered into the system promptly to avoid last-minute rush.
The District SIR Helpline has received 17 calls so far, and the office confirmed all grievances raised have been addressed. Photographs of the house-to-house enumeration are also being maintained as part of documentation.
With the deadline less than four weeks away, the district administration is pushing to ramp up both distribution and digitization so that the electoral rolls for East Khasi Hills are updated accurately ahead of the next election cycle.
