Imphal, Sept 11: In a significant move amid unending ethnic tension,
Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho said he would skip the cabinet meeting alleging sheer injustice to his community.
According to Dikho, only the Nagas have been bearing the brunt of the tribal and non-tribal ethnic clash in the state for the last 4 years. “Will attend the cabinet if justice is done to my community,” he said.
He made it plain and simple that his move not to attend the cabinet decision was endorsed by the Naga Legislators’ Forum.
Dikho observed that the decision has been taken after careful consideration and for the greater interest of his community.
Notably, nine Naga MLAs, including Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take immediate action against Kuki-Zo militant leaders.
The Nine Naga legislators, in their recent letter to the union home minister, also demanded the arrest of those whom they alleged were involved in the killing and dismemberment of six Naga men, and demanded the abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with Kuki militant groups.
