Guwahati (Assam), May 4: The BJP-led NDA is set to touch at least 100 seats in Assam if the trends are any indication till 5 in the evening.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is set for his second term as CM as he is taking a massive lead in Jalukbari constituency. Pijush Hazarika of the BJP was won the Jagiroad seat.
On the contrary, the Congress-led alliance is trailing by 20 even after the loss of Congress president Gaurav Gogo in Jorhat and his AJP counterpart Lurinjyoti Gogoi from Khowang on Monday. BJP veteran Vijay Gupta defeated Kunki Chowdhury of the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP by a margin of 50,000 votes.
The BJP made a high-stakes gamble here by fielding Pradyut Bordoloi in Dispur, a former Congress stalwart who defected to the saffron party before the polls. He is facing Mira Borthakur Goswami of the Congress.
