Shillong(Meghalaya), May 04 Balmanduri FC ran riot in Williamnagar on Sunday with a 7-1 thrashing of Attong Matgrik FC in Group G of the 5th Meghalaya State League, repeating the exact scoreline from the first leg.
Chichang M Momin starred with four goals, scoring in the 20th, 27th, 50th and 87th minutes, while Ltchal Marak struck twice in the 36th and 66th minutes and Withnias G Momin added the seventh in stoppage time. Sunil M Marak scored the only goal for bottom-placed Attong Matgrik in the 58th minute.
In the day’s other game at Wahiajer, Iatyllilang Lumsehkot CSC finally opened their account with a 2-1 win over Lumphyrnai Sohphoh FC in Group E. Leiwanki Laban put them ahead in the 9th minute and Firstborn Tyngkan made it 2-0 in the 22nd, before Sonowel Kharsati pulled one back for Lumphyrnai Sohphoh in the 79th minute.
The victory lifts Iatyllilang Lumsehkot off the bottom of Group E, but they were already out of the race for the pre-quarterfinals with Shillong Lajong and Lumphyrnai Sohphoh having sealed the qualification spots earlier.
Tomorrow’s fixtures all kick off at 3pm with Umkaber SCC facing Mawshun SCC at Shillong SSA Stadium in Group A, Mawphu SC taking on Mawlum Tyrsad SCC at Shillong MFA Ground in Group B, Lamin XI SCC playing Laskein SCSC in Amlarem for Group C, Ladthadlaboh SC meeting Thangskai Tiger SC in Khliehriat in Group D, Shillong Lajong FC up against Lamyrsiang SCC in Wahiajer for Group E, Lawbah SC meeting Umlakro SC in Mairang in Group F, Janepih YSCA clashing with A’chik SCO Rongjeng in Williamnagar for Group G, and SS Umdang Pyllun facing Mawlarshong SC in Mawkyrwat in Group H.
