Shillong(Meghalaya), Sept 25: In a significant push for mineral exploration, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today inaugurated the workshop on “Enhancing Mineral Exploration through NMET” at the State Convention Centre. Organized by the Directorate of Mineral Resources, Government of Meghalaya, this initiative aims to contribute to India’s goal of becoming a developed nation, Viksit Bharat.
CM Sangma emphasized the crucial role of technology in mineral exploration, citing its accuracy, ease, and scientific advancements ¹. He acknowledged the valuable contributions of technology partners like NESAC in mining, water resources, and forest resources mapping.
The workshop focuses on harnessing Meghalaya’s mineral potential for overall development while ensuring responsible exploration and mining practices. CM Sangma stressed the need for balancing economic growth with environmental and social considerations.
