Shillong (Meghalaya) April 15 :Christians all over the state today observed “Good Friday” commemorating the suffering, crucifixions, and death of Lord Jesus Christ on Mount Calvary.
Good Friday was observed with deep reverence by Christians across the state . The Catholics observed the day with religious services of the “Veneration of the Cross and “The Way of the Cross. Other Christian denominations also observed the day with “Good Friday Services” in their churches, in which, pastors and church elders, while giving their sermons spoke at length on the significance of “Good Friday” commemorating the redemptive work of Christ for the world.
In almost everyone’s lips and hearts, the prayer to observe the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, was to grant them strength.
From the early days of Christianity, Good Friday is being observed as a day of sorrow, penance, and fasting. Christians believe that God raised Jesus from the dead on Easter Sunday.
PM Narendra Modi today remembered the courage and sacrifices of Jesus Christ on Good Friday. In a tweet, Modi said, his ideals of service and brotherhood are the guiding light for several people.
