Shillong(Meghalaya), May 29: The East Khasi Hills Police have registered two FIRs in connection with a viral video case involving the alleged sexual assault of a school girl. The incident occurred on May 23 last at around 6:35 am at Umsohsun (lane going to YWCA).
A special team led by Addl. Superintendent of Police (Ops), Ivan B. Diengdoh, was formed on May 26 , to identify and apprehend the culprit. The police have identified the place of occurrence and examined the victim.
The FIRs registered are Lumdiengjri PS Case No. 55(05)2025 under Sections 76/79 BNS r/w Sec. 11/12 POCSO Act and another FIR lodged at Sadar PS. The police are working diligently to ensure justice is served in this case.
The case has sparked widespread concern, and the police are taking swift action to investigate and bring the perpetrator to justice. The authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
