Shillong ( Meghalaya ), July 26 : 8 more Covid patients from East Khasi Hills district succumbed to their infections and 569 new cases were detected in the state in the last 24 hours .
The death toll has gone up to 1,031 .

According to official sources , 597 new cases were detected in the state on Monday with East Khasi Hills on the top with 173 cases .
With the discharge of 485 patients the active cases now stand at 5,084.
