Guwahati (Assam), Sept 25 : Former Chief Minister of Assam , Tarun Gogoi whose condition suddenly deteriorated on Thursday and had to be rushed to the ICU of Guwahati Medical College hospital in critical state is stable now .
State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the team of specialists who are treating Gogoi had a video conference with the director of AIIMS , New Delhi Dr. Randeep Guleria this morning to have a detailed condition of his health . His son , Lok Sabha MP also participated in the discussion .
Dr . Sarma said that his oxygen saturation was normal now at 94 and some minor changes in the mode of the treatment has been suggested by the AIIMS director . He also informed that a specialist from AIIMS Delhi will fly down to Guwahati to monitor his progress.
The 85 -year -old Fromer CM who is now Covid negative was still being treated in the hospital for full recovery .
Tarun Gogoi, was chief minister from 2001 to 2016 for 3 consecutive terms and was tested Covid-19 positive on August 26.
Subsequently ,the government constituted an eight-member team of specialists to monitor his health after he was admitted to the hospital .
On Thursday , when Gogoi’s condition suddenly turned critical the government was contemplating of shifting him to AIIMS for specialized treatment .
