Shillong (Meghalaya ) , Sept 25 : At least 5 persons are feared killed in a massive landslide which occurred early this morning at Dhobi Ghat in Laban locality here and completely damaged 3 wooden type houses .
According to information available, the 5 missing persons are ,Firoza Khan (40), Reziya Ahmed (38), Bela Ahmed (40), Imaded Nongrum (60), and Kayam Uddin (42).
All of the missing persons were residing in the wooden type houses which was totally damaged in the landslide.
Due to heavy rain for the past 2 days , other people of the area have been shifted to safer locations .
2 of persons who were washed away somehow managed to swim out from nearby stream at Dhobi Ghat and have been identified as Md Hasmuddin (30), and his elder brother Md. Azamuddin (35).
One Thomas Mylliemngap who was seriously injured has been shifted to Civil Hospital here by the 108 emergency team.
Meanwhile, rescue operations are on to trace the missing persons .
