Kokrajhar (Assam),Sep 7: The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) which is campaigning to bring ‘parivartan’ by bringing in good governnce in Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) is optimistic that people from all sections of the society are going to support and vote in favour of UPPL in the ensuing council elections to the BTC administration.
Though the election date is to be declared for the BTC polls ,campaigning from different parties have gained momentum across the four districts of BTAD.
On Sunday,UPPL president Pramod Boro and several party leaders addressed a mammoth gathering and joining ceremony -in held at Habrubill ground under Dotma constituency for the party candidate Jyotirindra Brahma .
Nearly 1000 new members from different parties and organizations joined the UPPL party and extended support to the party.
UPPL president Pramod Boro said that his party is fully prepared to contest the council elections whenever the date is announced and added that citizens across the region are wanting parivartan and development in leading their life and that is the reason why common masses are extending massive support and and willing to vote in favour of UPPL for good governance.
“UPPL would be winning majority of the seats in the 40 member house in the BTC elections paving way for good governance which is the need of the hour”, Pramod Boro said.
He has accused the BPF party of indulging in massive corruption and anomalies in their 17 year of rule in BTAD in all all departments like Agriculture, road communication,Irrigation,health sectors and the citizens were deprived of their due rights and welfare.
He expressed his hope that the council election will be held any time as the Supreme Court has directed to conduct the elections to elect public representatives .
UPPL party leader and former general secretary of NDFB(S) Ranjit Basumatary(B R Ferenga) termed that BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary as a ‘value less’ person in today’s juncture.
Basumatary, who is party candidate for Chirang Duar constituency while campaigning for UPPL candidates in Kokrajhar district said that BPF and Hagrama Mohilary is now facing massive crisis.
Few days ago, Mohilary,who was former BTC chief, had termed that BTR accord as a ‘value less’ accord .
Ferenga said that UPPL is confident of winning 27-32 seats in the 40 member house of the BTC to form the next BTC council.
He further made a prediction that BPF would be winning only 4 seats across the BTC districts.
Ferenga said that Hagrama Mohilary is a very political non -entity as he failed to work for the development of all sections of the communities in their 17 years of rule .
