Guwahati ( Assam), July 8 : There is been not letdown in the increasing number of Covid cases in the state with a total of 814 fresh cases reported across the state taking the total number of cases in the state to 13336.
The capital which has been witnessing a surge in the Covid cases in the past one week reported 558 cases out of the 814 cases .
Seeing no let down in the increase of new cases the government for the first in the country has started door -to -door testing in the hot spots . On Tuesday test were carried out in one of worst Covid affected areas of Pandu and subsequently other sensitive areas of the city would be covered .
They expect to carry out at least 3000 tests by Wednesday .
Confirming the cases , Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , “📌Alert ~ 814 new #COVID19 cases detected today, 588 from Guwahati City. Numbers are not encouraging. Self-control is critical.”
