Guwahati (Assam), May 18 : One more person died of COVID19 infection in Assam on Monday taking the state’s death toll to 4.
Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the person died at Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) before being tested positive.
On Monday, 7 more COVID19 positive cases were detected in Guwahati including the person who died before being detected of the deadly virus.
With 7 fresh cases, the number of total COVID19 positive cases in the state has mounted to 115.
The Health Minister tweeted at 11 pm ,“Alert ~ 7 #COVID19 + cases detected from Guwahati. One person had unfortunately died at GMCH prior to detection. 3 patients are from Sarusajai quarantine centre; & rest 3 related to Aloo Godam case are from Fancy Bazaar containment zone.”

On Monday morning , a 71-year-old cancer patient, Gopindra Ch Malakar, who returned from Mumbai, died at GMCH.
