Guwahati (Assam), June 8: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma retained key portfolios including Home, Power and Public Works in a cabinet reallocation notified by Raj Bhawan on Monday.
Sarma will continue to handle Home and Political Affairs, Power, PWD Buildings and National Highways, PWD Roads, and Information and Public Relations.
Finance, Environment and Forest, and Mines and Minerals go to Jayanta Mallabaruah. Ashok Singhal retains Health and Family Welfare, and Medical Education and Research. Ranoj Pegu keeps School and Higher Education, Tribal Affairs Plain, and Information Technology.
Pijush Hazarika gets Agriculture, Irrigation and Parliamentary Affairs. Bimal Borah retains Cultural Affairs, Industries, Commerce, Public Enterprises and Act East Policy Affairs.
Biswajit Daimary takes Handloom, Textiles, Sports, Skill and Employment. Barak Valley’s Kaushik Rai gets Food, Housing and Urban Affairs, and Cooperation. AGP’s Keshab Mahanta is in charge of Revenue, Disaster Management, Science and Technology, and General Administration.
Krishnendu Paul will handle Public Health Engineering and Barak Valley Development. Nilima Devi takes Animal Husbandry and Fisheries. Susanta Borgohain gets Water Resources and Judicial. Ashwini Ray Sarkar is assigned Social Justice, Soil Conservation, and Welfare of Minorities.
