Kokrajhar ( Assam) ,Sep 21: Protest and condemnation continue to pour in against the killing of 2 Bodo youths allegedly killed in an encounter in Kokrajhar district recently which has created resentment among the society in Bodoland Territorial Region districts.
A student’s protest rally was organized in Kokrajhar town demanding justice to the 2 Bodo killed by police on Sep 18 last.
Thousands of students from different colleges participated in the protest rally which started from BTC Secretariat main gate via JD Road to DC office Kokrajhar. The student community is demanding a through investigation into the incident and punishment to those involved in the encounter incident.
The rally was organized by BTR College Students Union on allegation that the two persons were killed in a fake encounter at Lungsung area inside the Ultapani forest area in Kokrajhar district.
The students leaders said that people want peace and harmony among the society and fake encounters must be stopped as soon as possible.
The Boro Somaj and Tribal Sangha of Kokrajhar district committee have demanded a high level judicial inquiry into the encounter incident at Lungsung area where two Bodo youths were killed.
Addressing a press conference held at Boro Somaj office in Kokrajhar today, Noted writer and adviser of Kokrajhar district committee of Boro Somaj, Bibekananda Narzary and Tribal Sangha leader Chajramani Brahma expressed deep concern over the encounter which resulted in the death of two Bodo youths .
Narzary said that the violence or arms struggle at this moment is not suited for the peace loving society.
He has urged the ULB militants to shun violence and arms struggle .
Tribal Sangha leader Chajramani Brahma have also extended deep shock and concern over the encounter. He has condemned the incident and demanded an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, a ten member’s delegation team of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) led by it’s general secretary Khanindra Basumatary visited at the house of Jwngsar Mushahary at Salguri village near Patgaon in Kokrajhar district and took stock about the incident.
ABSU delegation has also demanded a high level judicial inquiry into the incident.
Noted businessman and BJP leader William Narzary has also donated Rs.50,000 to the kin of Jwngsar Mushahary,who was killed at an encounter with police on Saturday last.
Narzary today visited at the house of Jwngsar Mushahary at Salguri village near Patgaon and handed over the amount.
Meanwhile, Bodoland Territorial Region administration has announced jobs to the kin of Jwngsar Mushahary and Janak Kumar Brahma,who were allegedly killed at an encounter with police on Saturday early morning at Lungsung area in Kokrajhar district.
BTR CEM Pramod Boro announced the decision to offer government jobs to the next of kin Mushahary and Brahma,who were former members of NDFB-S.
The appointment letters are likely be handed over to the family members shortly .
