Guwahati (Assam), Oct 19 : An Assam police personnel, constable Roben Das, drowned while trying to nab a bunch of cattle smugglers in South Salmara district of Assam.
The operation to nab the cattle smugglers was carried out along the India-Bangladesh border within the district.
During the operation by South Salmara Police near the Indo-Bangladesh Border to nab cattle smugglers, Constable Roben Das made the supreme sacrifice when he drowned while attempting to apprehend the culprits.
Assam cabinet minister Chandra Mohan Patowary in a tweet said , “With a heavy heart, I paid floral tribute to Cn Roben Das of Assam Police who made the supreme sacrifice following drowning in an operation to nab the cow smugglers at Mankachar. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.”
