Guwahati (Assam), July 18 : A total of 1218 Covid cases were detected in the state with 570 cases reported from Guwahati city .
The total number of cases in the state has shot up to 21864 with 7705 active cases .
Even though the Health Minister said that the lockdown in parts of the state and Guwahati would be unlocked in a phased manner , the people are still apprehensive about the ground situation .
On Friday one more critically ill Covid patient succumbed to his infection at the Guwahati Medical College taking the death toll to 51.
The Health Minister tweeted , “📌Alert ~ 1218 new #COVID19 ve+ patients in Assam today, with 570 reported from Guwahati City alone.Please follow strict containment measures to stay safe!”
