Guwahati ( Assam), May 21 : 81 more critically ill Covid -19 patients succumbed to their infections in the past 24 hours at various hospitals across the state .
In a tweet Chief Minister , Dr . Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that 6066 new Covid cases were detected in the state in the past 24 hours out of which 907 cases were detected only in Kamrup ( M) .
These cases were detected after conducting 103158 tests .
The overall positivity percentage has now gone down to 5.88% and recovery rate is 84.22%.
The Assam Health and Family Welfare Department also released a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to contain the possible spread Black Fungus in the state after a patient died at the International Hospitals here .
The order said, a large number of similar cases have been reported from other parts of the country, and there is a likelihood of an increase in the number of such cases in the future.
