Guwahati (Assam), April 24: A total of 2236 Covid cases were detected in the state in past 24 hours which includes 815 cases from Kamrup (Metro) .
The overall positivity percentage is (2236 cases out of 69094 test done = 3.24%).
A total of 14 critically ill patients also succumbed to their infections in the past 24 hours .
Meanwhile , Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , “My PWD team is working closely with faculty of Silchar Medical College & Hospital to expedite setting up of a 60-bed ICU for emergency support & #Covid management. I am sure this shall get functional by May 2, 2021.”
In another tweet he said “pleased to share that we’ve received fresh batch of 2 lakh more doses of #CovishieldVaccine from Government of India, which shall help us further step up our #COVIDVaccination program in Assam.Our current doses availability stands at 406,610.”
The state also achieved the completion of 2 million vaccinations today .
