Guwahati (Assam), Sept 17 : 17 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections on Thursday taking the official death toll so far to 528 .
A total of 1380 fresh Covid cases were detected in the state today among which 376 were reported from Kamrup Metro and 123 from Jorhat .
Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that due to Vishwakarma Puja which is was observed in the state , less number of tests were conducted and hence the drop in the figures .
He tweeted , “📌Alert ~ 1380 #COVID cases detected today out of 20557 tests.
Due to #VishwakarmaPuja today, less number of tests were conducted.
