Mairang (Meghalaya), Aug 25: A 17-year-old girl named Ribaiahun Marngar went missing from Permadan Village in the Eastern West Khasi Hills District on August 15. According to reports, she was last seen working at a shop in Permadan village around 10 am.
The police have registered a case, vide Mairang PS Case No. 81(8)2025 u/s 137(1)(b)(2) BHARATIYA NYAYA SANHITA (BNS), 2023, and launched an investigation into the matter. The authorities suspect that she may have been kidnapped by Thomborlang Sohphoh of Umdum Village.
The missing girl is described as being 5 feet tall with a white complexion and long black hair. She was last seen wearing a white blouse with black printed stars, a brown Khasi traditional “Jainkyrshah” with white stripes, and black pants.
The police are urging anyone with information about the missing girl or the suspect to contact them on mobile number 6009308959. The identity of the informer will be kept confidential. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to trace the missing girl.
