Shillong (Meghalaya), May 12: In a show of solidarity with the nation’s armed forces, a bike rally was organized here to pay tribute to the soldiers serving at the frontlines. The event, led by Deputy Commissioner Smt. R.M. Kurbah, aimed to recognize the sacrifices and unwavering service of the nation’s soldiers.
The rally was flagged off at Golflink by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shanborlang Warjri and concluded at the State Central Library. Speaking at a brief program held at the library, Smt. Kurbah highlighted that the event was a mark of support for the soldiers engaged in the ongoing conflict with Pakistan.
Smt. Kurbah referred to the recent incident in Pahalgam, saying it was a stark reminder of the courage and commitment shown by the armed forces. “The nation stands united in gratitude. It is through their sleepless nights that we sleep peacefully,” she said, emphasizing the sacrifices made by the armed forces.
The event demonstrated the community’s appreciation for the armed forces’ role in maintaining peace and security, with participants and onlookers viewing it as a meaningful display of support.
