Shillong (Meghalaya), May 2: In a fun-filled evening, the Shillong Press Club and DIPR Combined team faced off against the Chief Secretary XI in a friendly football match at SSA First Ground, Polo, to celebrate World Press Freedom Day 2025.
The Chief Secretary XI emerged victorious, winning 5-0 against the Press Club and DIPR combined team.

Despite the loss, the event brought together members of the press and officials for an evening of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and celebration of press freedom.
This year’s theme, “Reporting in the Brave New World: The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Press Freedom and the Media,” highlights the evolving landscape of journalism.
