Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 20: In a thrilling OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024 match at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, Lajong handed Nongthymmai SC a crushing 5-1 defeat today.
Babysunday was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick (20′, 40′, 60′) to lead Lajong’s charge. Firstborn Roy Khongsti (22′), Yohaan Benjamin (32′), and Emanbha Marbaniang (63′) also got on the scoresheet. Donald Tariang (52′) scored the lone goal for Nongthymmai.
This match marked the end of the first leg for both teams. Lajong concluded with an impressive 22 points from seven wins, one draw, and one loss. Nongthymmai, on the other hand, remained stuck on 7 points with two wins, one draw, and six losses.
