Shillong(Meghalaya), May 19: In a remarkable achievement, 20-year-old Cadet Rifiness Warjri from Meghalaya has become the third woman from the state to conquer Mount Everest. As part of the NCC Mount Everest Expedition 2025, Warjri successfully summited the 8,849-meter peak on May 18, at 4:45 am.
A student at St. Anthony’s College and a cadet of 61 Meghalaya Girls Battalion NCC, Warjri’s feat showcases her determination and mountaineering prowess.
She had previously scaled Mount Abi Gamin, demonstrating her climbing skills. Warjri’s achievement is an inspiration to the youth, highlighting the potential of Meghalaya’s young generation.
