Tura(Meghalaya), July 31: A vigilant night patrol forest team from GHADC Forest Range office of Phulbari apprehended a vehicle loaded with expensive timber while it was being taken to one of the many mills in the plain belt of West Garo Hills.

As per reports, the vehicle with the seized timber was caught near the village of Balachanda, about 25 kms from Phulabri before it was brought to the town and a case registered. The driver and helper of the vehicle however managed to escape abandoning both the vehicle as well as its precious cargo.
The incident took place at about 2 AM this morning and falls under the jurisdiction of the Phulbari police station.
