Shillong ( Meghalaya ) , May 11 : The state today reported all -time highest of 450 fresh Covid -19 cases today .
Among the new cases , 312 cases were reported from East Khasi Hills , 45 from West Garo Hills , 27 from Ri Bhoi , 18 from East Jaintia Hills , 15 from South West Garo Hills , 6 from West Khasi Hills, 5 from East Garo Hills , 2 from West Garo Hills and 2 from North Garo Hills .
9 more Covid -19 patients succumbed to their infections taking the death toll to 242 . A total of 5 deaths were reported from East Khasi Hills , 2 from West Jaintia Hills and 1 from Ri Bhoi district .
The deceased has been identified as : Paroti Lato (49) of Mawprem, Shillong, Michin Rymbai (52) of Khliehtyrchi, West Jaintia Hills,Zingim Luikham (94) of Dhanketi, Shillong, Ribhalang Sangot (38) of Mawlai Umshorshor, Shillong , Marween Syiem (58) of Jaiaw Lumsyntiew, Shillong ,Augustine Lyngdoh Kynshi (58) of Pyndengumiong, West Khasi Hills, Kornel Marak (72) of Maikuli, Ri-Bhoi,Bukarson Sangma (67) of Upper Shillong and Phris Starwell Rymmai (29) of Rymbai, East Jaintia Hills .
The state tally now stands at 20, 597 with 3,297 active cases after a total of 17,040 patients recovered . The death till now stands at 242 .
