Tura(Meghalaya), Jan 5 : The parents of a martyred jawan from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were felicitated through a program organized by the CRPF here recently.
The jawan, Utpal Rabha, was a resident of Thorikapara under Bajengdoba in North Garo Hills district and made the ultimate sacrifice when battling Maoists in Jharkhand in 2018. Rabha had fearlessly mounted an assault on the Maoists despite being hit by a bullet during the encounter.
For his ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for the country, the martyred jawan had posthumously received the President’s Police Medal of Gallantry during the recently concluded 71st Republic Day celebrations.
Utpal was a member of the elite 209 CoBRA force within the CRPF and was killed on July, 2018.
Meanwhile, officials of the CRPF, including the DIGP CRPF Range, Guwahati, JPJ Ray, Commandant 120 Bn CRPF, BC Dalbehera, second in command 120 Bn CRPF, Anil Kumar Singh and others felicitated the father, Brojendro Rabha and mother Bakhowa Rabha in their hometown.
