Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Feb 7:Jangkhritai Pwthar,here is all ready for PM Modi to participate in the grand celebrations to mark the signing of the Third Bodo Accord in Assam’s Kokrajhar district today .
A grand welcome would be accorded to the Prime Minister who is coming to Kokrajhar to participate in the celebrations to mark the recently signed third Bodo Accord which would lead to the creation Bodoland Territorial Region.
Preparations are fully complete for the PM Modi historic visit.He is expected to reach Kokrajhar at 12 noon today and would be addressing the huge crowd followed by a cultural programme showcasing the rich Bodo culture .
Assam Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma,Cabinet minister Naba Doley minister of State Piyush Hazarika, minister Pramila Rani Brahma,Rihan Daimary, ABSU President Promod Boro,BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary,Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary,Additional DGP GP Singh are all camping here to ensure that the programme in conducted smoothly.
A huge public pandal has been erected to ensure over five lakh people to comfortably to hear the Prime Minister and participate in the celebrations.
The celebration is being jointly organising by the state government,BTC administration and Bodo Accord signatories.
State Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma offered his prayers at Bathow Thansali here on Thursday evening .
He said that Feb 7 day would be a historic day as it would mark the return of peace after decades of insurgency .
ADGP of Assam GP Singh said that adequate security deployment has been done in every nook and corner of the celebration site .
NDFB-Dhiren Boro faction leader,Dhiren Boro said that Kokrajhar is all ready to welcome the PM to Kokrajhar.He said t over five lakh people are expected to participate in the celebrations.
ABSU president Pramod Boro said that necessary preparations have been completed by Thursday evening.
He was hopeful that PM Modi’s visit would boost integrity and development in the region as PM is coming here after signing of the historic Bodo Accord.
Meanwhile,a bike rally was organised here on Thuursday to express gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is coming to participate in the grand celebrations . Over two thousand bikers from different areas of the districts participated in the rally which was organised jointly by ABSU,NDFBP,PJACBM.
