Shillong (Meghalaya) , Sept 23 : 2 more Covid deaths were officially declared in the state on Wednesday taking the death toll to 42.
Though 4 Covid deaths were officially declared today the 2 other deaths of Abdul Hazim aged 60 years from Jhalupara area and Sudip Karmakar aged 41 years from Hari Sabha area of Laban were already reported by South Asia Views on Tuesday .
The two other Covid patients whose names were officially declared today are Deepak Dutta aged 75 years from Circuit House in Kenches’ Trace area who succumbed to his infections on Wednesday at NEIGHRIMS .
The other Covid pateint who succumbed to her infections is Ryena Begum aged 68 years hailing from Mahendraganj . She was admitted to Ampati Civil Hospital on Sept 17 last and succumbed to her infections on Tuesday .
On Wednesday 170 fresh Covid cases were detected in the state taking the total number of active cases to 2,060 .
Among the new cases 117 cases were reported from East Khasi Hills which includes 116 civilians and 1 from Armed Forces . Ri Bhoi District reported 37 cases , North Garo Hills 5 cases and East Jaintia Hiils and West Jaintia Hills reported 3 cases each .
