Shillong ( Meghalaya), May 24 : Despite all possible measures to contain the spread of Covid -19 epidemic in state , 24 more Covid -19 related deaths were reported in the state in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 483 .
Among the 24 deaths ,East Khasi Hills reported 17 deaths, West Jaintia Hills 3 , West Khasi Hills 2 and 1 each from East Jaintia Hills and West Garo Hills.

Among 811 new cases detected in the state today 556 were from East Khasi Hills , 103 from Ri Bhoi and 77 from West Jaintia Hills .
The active cases now stand at 7,788 .
The state also saw the highest single -day recovery with 679 patients being discharged today after full recovery .
