Shillong ( Meghalaya), May 24 : 28 -year- old Badaphun Rapsang who was nursing the patients at the North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) finally contracted the deadly Covid -19 virus and succumbed to her infections on Sunday .
Hailing from Nongbsap under Mawphlang in East Khasi Hills , Dadaphun Rapsang was attached to the gynecological and obstetrics department of the hospital .
On Sunday evening , she passed away at the Roberts Hospital in the city due to Covid -19 pneumonia .
A pale of gloom descended as soon as the news of her death reached her colleagues and the hospital authorities .
The Trained Nurses Association of India NEIGRIHMS today offered their deep condolences to the bereaved family .
