Shillong ( Meghalaya), Aug 18 : .Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, Deputy CM, . P. Tynsong & Cabinet Ministers H. Dohling and R. Tongkhar met with the members of ‘Sur ki Nong Mawlai’ comprising of local MDC, community heads & social organisations of Mawlai today.
The Chief minister requested the delegation to allow the Judicial Enquiry to take its course and called on them to work with the Government in order to ensure peace and tranquility returns to Shillong.
Meanwhile East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo said the curfew will be relaxed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday in view of the improvement in the law-and-order.
According to an order the curfew will remain in place from 5 am to 5 p.m. for the next two days and the relaxation hours may be increased depending on the situation. Essential and non-essential shops would remain open till 4 p.m. until further orders.
Schools, colleges, and government and private offices, which had obtained permission to function with 30% people, too were asked to close by 4 p.m.
The banking transactions for public will be till 3 pm .
