Shillong (Meghalaya ) Sept 5 :On the occasion of the Teachers’ Day today the Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong led by its President Dr Vincent Darlong & Secretary Vivek Kumar felicitated six ‘special teachers’ of Roilang Livelihoods Academy – a unit of Bethany Society here .
The Academy is not a typical conventional school but it does more than that. The academy empowers vulnerable youth especially women, school drop outs and persons with disability through the development of skills for engaging in gainful livelihoods, leading to economic and social inclusion.
Certificate of appreciation were handed over to Ms Eldalyne Kharsati, Ms Merliene Diengdoh, Ms Manja Kynter, Ms Tresila Nongdhar, Ms Ester Lalringkim Pamthied, and Sibashish Dey for their dedicated services bringing light to numerous underprivileged and differently abled youth of the state.
