Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 20: Education Department has signed an MOU with the National Stock Exchange India Limited (NSE) to empower the youth of Meghalaya through skill development programs. This collaboration aims to provide a platform for skill development in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector, focusing on investor awareness and securities market training.
The initiative includes a Student Skilling Programme, conducted by the National Stock Exchange, in various educational institutions across Meghalaya. The program commenced with a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from January 20-23 , organized by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, State Higher Education Council, and the National Stock Exchange.
The FDP aims to equip faculty members with the necessary knowledge and tools to impart skills to students in the BFSI domain. The inaugural session was held at Shillong College, with A. Ch. Marak, Secretary , Education Department, as the Chief Guest.
This initiative is expected to enhance the employability of students and foster greater understanding and participation in the financial markets, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of Meghalaya.
