Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 12: In a major breakthrough, the East Khasi Hills (EKH) police have seized 106.06 grams of suspected heroin and arrested two individuals from Manipur.
According to police sources, the arrests were made today, at Umphyrnai under Madanriting Police Station.
The accused have been identified as Dontanglian (39 years), son of Gousian, resident of Vengnuam, Churachanpur, Manipur, and Smti. Chingneilun (30 years), wife of Nengzanhau, resident of Lungthul village, Singngat, Churachanpur, Manipur.
Police recovered 10 soap boxes containing the suspected heroin, along with two mobile phones, from the possession of the accused.
The arrest and seizure are a significant blow to heroin trafficking in the region. The EKH police team’s efforts demonstrate their commitment to combating illicit activities and ensuring public safety.
