Agartala (Tripura ), April 6 : The first case of COVid -19 was confirmed in the state today.
Tripura chief minister Biplab Kr Deb said the patient is a 45 – year old woman from Udaipur under Gomti district .
He appealed to the residents of the state not to panic, as the government is taking proper care of the patient.
Chief minister Deb tweeted at 9:45 pm: “First #COVID19 positive case detected at Tripura. The patient is from Udaipur.”
“Don’t Panic, we are taking proper care of the patient. Stay Home Stay Safe,” he added.

The patient, who has been suffering from fever since the last six days, has been admitted to Gomoti district hospital.
Earlier ,eight persons from the state today tested positive for coronavirus., All of them are not present in the state and and undergoing treatment outside .
The persons took part in religious congregation at Nizamuddin.
