Shillong (Meghalaya), June 23: The Madanrting Special Party has apprehended four individuals accused of stealing valuables from a tourist’s car in Mawblei. The incident occurred when a group of tourists from Mumbai parked their Innova near the Mahindra Showroom and went to dinner at the By the Way restaurant. Upon their return, they found the car’s window glass broken and their luggage containing Rs 50,000 cash and an iPhone stolen.
The arrested individuals are Chaphrang Nangkiew Sutnga, 24 years old, of Mawblei; Wanjop Kharumnuid, 23 years old, of Laitkor Nonglum; Albertstar Kharhujon, 22 years old, of Umphyrnai; and Michael Nongrum, 45 years old, of Demthring Block A.
The police recovered all the stolen items and cash from the accused. A case was registered at the Madanrting Police Station, and further investigation is ongoing.
