Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 4 : 2 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections in Shillong and Tura taking the death toll to 118.
According to sources , Lasting George Marbaniang aged 60 years of Shillong, was tested Covid-positive on Nov 27 and was admitted to NEIGRIHMS on the same day . He passed away on Thursday . The cause of death was due to refractory septic shock with massive intra-cerebral haemorrhage, Covid-19 pneumonia, acute kidney injury and hypertension.
Luphindro M Sangma aged 56 years, of South West Garo Hills, was admitted to Civil Hospital , Tura on Thursday morning and passed away the same evening. The Cause of death was hyperkaliemia (high potassium levels) with Covid pneumonia, uncontrolled diabetes and diabetic foot.
On Friday, 62 new cases were detected in the state taking the state tally to 12,067 . Among the new cases , 34 were reported from East Khasi Hills, 12 from West Garo Hills, 4 each from East Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills and 2 each from North Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
A total of 78 patients were declared recovered today .
