Guwahati, Oct 13: People thronged in thousands in the capital city of Guwahati on Tuesday demanding action against Rahul Gandhi who they say have been undermining the democracy and constitutional institutions.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who shared the visual of the anti-Congress rally said that the massive turnout at a BJP rally in the state sent a tough and clear message to the Congress that the people of Assam would not keep silent if the Congress does not stop these.
He said that the participation of a large number of people in the rally and expressed solidarity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to him, the turnout reflected public support for the BJP and its position on the ongoing political debate surrounding the electoral process and the Congress party’s criticism of democratic institutions.
“The people’s mandate is sacred. Congress has neither the right nor the authority to trample upon it,” he said.
